When to book your newborn photoshoot

Newborn sessions are best booked as soon as you have a due date. Please contact me as soon as the baby is born to either confirm the session date or reschedule it to the next available slot.

How old the baby has to be?

When it comes to newborn photography, the ideal time to schedule a photoshoot is during the first two weeks of the baby's life. During this time, the baby is typically very sleepy and easier to pose, allowing for those adorable curled-up shots that everyone loves.

That being said, not all parents are able to schedule a photoshoot within those first two weeks due to a variety of reasons such as medical complications, busy schedules, or simply not thinking of it in time. That's why it's important to note that newborn photography can still be done up until four months of age.

While the baby may be less sleepy and less willing to curl up during this time, there are still many opportunities to capture precious moments and create beautiful memories that you will cherish forever. With a skilled photographer and a bit of patience, you can still get stunning shots of your baby, no matter their age.

So, while it's recommended to schedule a newborn photoshoot within the first two weeks, don't worry if you miss that window. You can still create beautiful memories with your baby even if they are a few months old.

How long does the photoshoot last?

The length of the session depends on several factors, including the baby's age, feeding schedule, and how sleepy they are.

For newborns who are very sleepy, the session can typically be completed in about an hour and a half. This is because the photographer can easily pose the baby without waking them up, allowing for quick and easy shots.

However, for babies who are a bit more alert or need more frequent feeding and cuddles, the session may take up to 2 hours or more. This extra time allows for breaks and the flexibility to work around the baby's schedule.

As a professional photographer, I always book a 4-hour gap for newborn sessions, just in case we need extra time for feeding and soothing the baby. This way, there's no rush, and we can take our time to create beautiful images of your baby.

It's important to remember that every baby is different, and some may take longer to settle down and pose than others. As a result, the length of the session may vary depending on your baby's needs. My goal is to create a comfortable and relaxed environment for both you and your baby, so we can capture those precious moments that you will treasure for a lifetime.

Do I have to bring my own props?

As a professional newborn photographer, I take great care in providing a wide selection of props and costumes to create a beautiful and personalized photoshoot for your baby. From soft blankets and wraps to adorable hats and headbands, I have everything necessary to create stunning images that you will treasure for a lifetime.

However, I do recommend that parents bring their baby in a nice dress or clothes that do not go through the head. This is because newborns are often very sleepy during the photoshoot, and undressing them can disturb their sleep and make them fussy.

By bringing your baby in an outfit that doesn't go over their head, I can easily undress them without waking them up, allowing for a smoother and more relaxed photoshoot. This ensures that your baby remains comfortable throughout the session, and we can capture those precious moments without any interruptions.

Can parents and siblings take a picture with the baby?

Yes, parents and siblings photos are included in the newborn session. To make the process easier for our clients, we offer a single outfit for parents and siblings to wear during the photo shoot. This not only simplifies the decision-making process but also ensures that the focus remains on the newborn baby. However, we also offer the option to add an additional outfit for an extra cost of $50 to accommodate the family's preferences. Our goal is to provide a comfortable and enjoyable experience for the entire family while capturing the beauty of this special time in their lives

Can I come with my grandparents to the session?

Our standard package includes up to three adults on the session, typically parents and a sibling. However, we understand that extended family members may also want to be a part of this special moment. For an additional cost of $50, we can accommodate extra adults in the session, allowing more family members to participate in the memories captured. After the family session is complete, we kindly ask that all non-essential individuals leave the studio, so that I can focus on capturing the newborn's images. This ensures a calm and peaceful environment for the baby, allowing us to create beautiful and timeless photographs for you to treasure for years to come.

What should I bring?

First and foremost, extra milk is always a good idea, as a hungry baby can quickly become fussy and difficult to photograph. Additionally, bringing along a supply of nappies ensures that any necessary changes can be made quickly and easily during the session. Finally, if the baby uses a dummy, it's a good idea to bring it along as well, as this can be a comforting tool during the photo shoot. By bringing these key items, parents can help create a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere for their little one, ensuring that the resulting photographs capture their unique personality and beauty.

What happens if the baby doesn't settle?

As a newborn photographer, I have encountered many different situations during sessions, including times when a baby may not settle easily. While it's rare, there may be times when a baby is fussy, uncooperative, or just not in the mood for photos. In these situations, it's important to remain patient and flexible, and to work with the baby's natural rhythm and needs. In my experience, rescheduling the session for another day can often be the best solution. However, I also recall a time in my career when a baby was not settling during a session, and we made the decision to reschedule for another day. However, at the end of the session the baby fell asleep and we were able to complete the session in just 20 minutes on the same day. It's important to remain flexible and adaptable during these moments and to always prioritize the comfort and safety of the baby.

What type of payment do you accept?

A bank transfer is needed to pay the booking fee of $30, which secures your session slot. To pay the remaining of the session price on the day of the photoshoot, we accept cash, bank transfer or Payid.
